This section covers the procedure to connect Yellowfin to a Google BigQu=
ery data source.
Instructions
Follow the instructions create a connection with Big Query. You can use =
any of your Google service accounts to authenticate the connection.
- Click on the Create button and choose the data source option.
- Then select the database option.
- When the New Connection popup appears, provide a name and description f=
or your database.
- Choose Google BigQuery from the list of available data=
base options. New configuration fields will appear on doing so.
- Include Schema in SQL: Select this checkbox to add the=
schema name when addressing database tables in SQL queries.
- Project: Enter the name of the BigQuery project.
- Service Account: Specify the email address of your Goo=
gle service account.

vide the full path to a private key file for a service account. This is use=
d to authenticate the service account email address. This field supports bo=
th type of key formats: .p12 and .json. <=

- JDBC Driver: The JDBC driver used to talk to your Goog=
le BigQuery database. You must install this driver through the Plugin Manager.
- Username: Enter the username of your database account.=
- Password: Provide the password of the above account.=

- Once you have completed your connection information, you will have seve=

- Advanced Conne=
ction Editor: This will take you to the Data Source page in th=
e Admin Console and allow you to edit all the advanced options available fo=
r your database.
- Test Connection: This will validate the connection par=
ameters you provided to ensure it can connect to your database. If the conn=
ection was successful, a message will appear.
- Create View: This will save your connection and get yo=
u started on creating a view based on it.
- Save & Close: This will allow you to save your con=
nection and close the New Connection popup, returning you to the page you w=
ere on previously.
- Cancel: This closes the New Connection popup without s=
aving your connection, returning you to the page you were on previously.
- We recommend testing the connection, and then saving it by using the Sa=
ve & Close button.
