Logging in
Download and install the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play. There are two ways to log into the app:
- The standard method of using your Yellowfin account.
- The onboarding method that requires no login credentials.

Overview
Log into the Yellowfin mobile app by using:
- Your Yellowfin server login credentials.
- Your Yellowfin mobile onboarding invitation link (this method does not require login credentials).
Logging in with Yellowfin credentials
Use your Yellowfin server username and password to log To gain access, use your Yellowfin account details when logging in.
- Open the app, and tap on the Login button.
- When at At the login page, specify your server URL. This screen, tap on What is my server URL?
The Server URL is the address of the server where Yellowfin is deployed.
Tip: tap on the What is my server URL? link for an explanation on this URL.
A pop-up will appear, explaining how to obtain the correct URL if you are unsure - Tap OK to return to the login screen
When at the login screen, specify your Server URL
Enter your Yellowfin username and password
. Note that the
.Tap on the Forgot Password link if you have an account, but can’t remember your password. An alert will advise you to contact your system administrator for your new password.
The username field is case-sensitive

To log into a specific client organization, provide theClient Org reference ID, otherwise leave this field empty
.- Tap on the Login button to continue
Choose a quick authentication method and tap the Continue button
Available quick authentication options depend on your mobile device, and make sure your chosen quick authentication method is pre-configured
Tap Skip to setup later- Swipe left on each of the introductory pages, and Once all the details are provided, tap on Login to continue.
Upon logging in successfully for the first time, you will be able to scroll through a series of introductory pages. Swipe left on each of them, and then tap Got it! on the last page. - You will land on the Settings page that allows you to configure alternative login methods. Learn more about these here, or tap Skip.

Once logged in, Yellowfin mobile will display your Timeline
Tap on Continue. You will be taken to your Timeline.

The onboarding login process
Logging with a Yellowfin mobile onboarding invitation
The Yellowfin mobile onboarding invitation simplifies the login process by removing the requirement for login credentials. Users receive email invitations with a link, that when tapped, automatically opens the app on their instance of Yellowfin without the need for for login details, such as a usernameYou can set up an onboarding login process for your Yellowfin app, that sends email invites to users to log into the app without requiring login credentials. These invites contain links to the app, and do not require any user login details, including user account, password, server URL, or client org. The process requires the invites to be sent from the Yellowfin desktop platform, and the user to simply tap on the link from their mobile device.

From a desktop computer, use a web browser to access Yellowfin
- Click on the in the top left corner of the screen, then click on Administration
- If required, scroll down the list of options, then click on Mobile Access Management to display the Mobile Access Management page
The Mobile Access Management page displays a list of invitees, allowing you to manage users’ access to the mobile app

- Open your Yellowfin desktop platform. Then from the main menu, expand Administration, and click on Mobile Access Management.
When at the Mobile Access Management page, click on the New onboarding token button. - In the new popup, add the users (or even groups) whom you want would like to send the invite to.You may also select the Disregard users...
If you wish to avoid sending duplicate invitations checkbox if you do not wish to send invites to users who have already been issued invites, regardless of whether or not they’ve registered a device using the invite. - You may add an optional message to be sent with the invite.

- Click on the Send button to send the invites. On doing so, you will also see invitees on the Access Management page. This allows you to manage their access to the mobile app. More here.

The new users will be added to the Mobile Application Access Management page - To revoke access to the mobile app, click Revoke user tokens
- To revoke access for a user or users, type their name in the field and click the user from the dropdown list

- The selected user will be removed from the Mobile Application Access Management page

Issuing and revoking onboarding invitations - user level
Users can send themselves an invitation to initiate the onboarding process for Yellowfin mobile. This option allows users to send themselves an invite to log into the mobile app. This process can be performed by any user (not specifically an administratoradmin), provided they have the Mobile Self Invite role function enabled.

In your Yellowfin desktop platform, open the main menu, then expanding your name, click on the Profile Settings option.
When at your profile page,expand the Mobile Access Management section
The Mobile Access Management page allows you to issue an onboarding token to your mobile device, and manage your deployed tokens- Click , and click on the New onboarding token button. (Note: if you do not see this section, contact your administrator to ensure you have the correct role permissions).
A confirmation message will appear. - Click the Send button to confirm and send an invite.invitation
Using the token to log in
A new token will be added to the Mobile Access Management section- To revoke your mobile app onboarding token, click Cancel next to the token
The token will be removed automatically

Logging in with an onboarding token
If you have received a Yellowfin onboarding token, Once an onboarding token has been sent to a user, they must follow the steps below to log into the mobile app.

- Through Using your mobile device, access the invitation email that you received.
- Tap on the ‘open ‘click here to open and log in to mobile app’ link in in’ link within the email.

Use Yellowfin's Sample Content
If you wish to Yellowfin's sample data allows you to browse and interact with our library of Signals, Stories and Reports. You can trial the mobile app on using Yellowfin’s sample content , follow by following these steps.
- Click on Tap on the ‘Try on our sample data’ link at the bottom of the Login screen.
A form will appear - Tap on each field of the form to enter your details
- Tap You will be redirected to a form which you can fill with your information.
Click on the See it button to submit your details.
You will then receive an email with containing the login details will be delivered to your designated email address. You may use these details to access Yellowfin’s sample content data server from the app, and try it out yourself
