Follow the instructions below to connect Yellowfin to a Qubole database.

> ⚠️ Yellowfin does not ship with the driver required for this connection due to licensing/paywall reasons. You will need to manually upload the driver through the [Plugin Manager](https://yellowfin.atlassian.net/wiki/display/yfcurrent/Plugin+Management) or [Creating a Basic Data Source Connection.](https://yellowfin.atlassian.net/wiki/display/yfcurrent/Creating+a+Basic+Data+Source+Connection)

1. Click on the **Create** button and choose the data source option.

3. When the New Connection popup appears, provide a name and description for your database.

<span style="color: #000000">5. </span>**<span style="color: #000000">Qubole </span>**<span style="color: #000000">configuration fields:</span>

**<span style="color: #000000">6. Authentication Adapter: </span>**<span style="color: #000000">Specify an authentication method for the database adapter. **7. ****Command Type** - Enter the type of database being used. Valid options include Hive, Spark, Presto and SqlCommand.  
**8. ****Connection parameters - **you can read how to set these parameters from the Qubole website [here.](https://docs.qubole.com/en/latest/connectivity-options/use-qubole-drivers/JDBC-driver/additional-properties.html#jdbc-connection-string)  
     Connection parameters include Cluster Label, Database, Endpoint, Catalog and App ID (For Spark databases only)  
**9. ****JDBC Driver:** The JDBC driver talks to your Qubole database.  
**10. Username:** Enter the username of your database account.  
**11. Password:** Provide the password of the above account.
