## Overview

Natural Language Query (NLQ) is an intuitive and easy-to-use tool to find answers to your questions. You won’t need a degree in anything to use this tool: simply start typing a question and Yellowfin will guide you along the way.

There are two methods for asking questions - Guided NLQ which steps you through building your question using predefined choices; and Build Report (AI NLQ) - which allows you to type free-text questions, and then uses the power of an AI-engine to convert your question to Guided NLQ syntax.

If you're ready to ask questions with Guided NLQ, take a look at our quick reference to [Guided NLQ.](https://yellowfin.atlassian.net/wiki/display/yfcurrent/Ask+a+Question+with+Guided+NLQ)

If you're an administrator looking for more information on setting up Guided NLQ, visit our pages that cover [Guided NLQ management](https://yellowfin.atlassian.net/wiki/display/yfcurrent/Setting+up+Guided+NLQ) and [Build Report (AI NLQ) setup.](https://wiki.yellowfinbi.com/space/yfcurrent/2205667/Build+Report+(AI+NLQ)+Setup)
