## Overview

### Chart Data Options

| **Option** | **Description** |

| Horizontal Axis | This is the category label for the X axis |
| Vertical Axis | Typically a numeric value such as $. An item that you want to measure on your Chart |
| Colour | This option is only available if you have a cross tab data set available and is used to determine the colour applied for cross tab series data. |


## Combination Chart Tutorial



### Summary

In order to set up a Combination Chart you will need:

1. Create a report with chart display
  1. Select a field to use as the **Label**
  2. Select field(s) to use as the **Metrics**
2. Create your chart, selecting **Overlay** as the type
3. Provide the **Horizontal Axis** and **Vertical Axis** fields
4. Customise the Chart as required, creating a second chart and assigning metric(s) to it
5. **Close** the Chart Builder
6. **Save** your report

## Axis Styling for Combination Charts

When using a combination Chart (vertical or horizontal), it is possible to independently style the axis for each chart. To do this, follow these steps:

- Follow the main steps for setting up your combination Chart, including specifically selecting the Chart Type from the Chart Type Selector.
- Make sure you have a dimension and several metrics as a minimum for your Chart.
- Click on the Axis Settings icon and expand the Share Axis Style option.
- By default, the Share Y Axis Setting will be set to On. This means all axes will share the same formatting. If you want individual styling on each Axis, toggle this to Off.
- Upon doing so, a box will appear on the left hand side representing the Axis for each additional chart created for this combination Chart.

- Click on each Chart to configure the Axis Settings. The options shown are the normal Axis settings available when formatting an axis for this type of chart.

- It is possible to configure completely different Axis options including the appearance of the axis, as well as its scale.
